We Help Kids Who Struggle With Asperger Syndrome *
Brain Balance Center of Chula Vista Has a Plan for Children with Asperger Syndrome *
The Brain Balance Program in Chula Vista
Dedicated to helping children in Chula Vista and the surrounding areas, the Brain Balance Achievement Center of Chula Vista helps children meet their social, behavioral, and academic goals. Children enrolled in The Brain Balance Program are first given a personalized assessment which helps our center identify each child’s unique challenges. Once we pinpoint a child’s difficulties, we develop a personalized plan that will help the child overcome their struggles and reach their goals.
Academic activities, sensory motor training, and dietary guidelines are included in each child’s individualized plan. We believe that these activities are valuable in developing an integrated, whole-child approach to help children overcome the challenges associated with Asperger syndrome.

Asperger Syndrome (now considered a part of ASD)
Asperger syndrome is defined as a pervasive developmental disorder on the autism spectrum that is often described as high-functioning autism*. This spectrum disorder causes children to have difficulty with social interactions, exhibit a restricted range of interests and repetitive behaviors, and struggle with underdeveloped motor skills. These children may struggle with reading social cues, and not understand subtleties, such as irony, sarcasm or humor. While children with Asperger syndrome encounter many difficulties, they tend to have average to above-average IQs and well-developed vocabularies. According to the Autism Society, one of the major differences between Asperger syndrome and other autism spectrum disorders is there is no speech delay in Asperger’s.
The Brain Balance Achievement Center of Chula Vista’s approach to Asperger syndrome includes creating a personalized plan that is geared toward helping children overcome their social, behavioral and academic difficulties. This plan includes 3 in-center visits per week in addition to at-home activities that will help your child reach their goals. Brain Balance parent, Susan W., enrolled her son, Casey, who was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome in the Brain Balance Program. In regards to Casey’s experience with Brain Balance, Susan said: “He used to not be connected in what we were doing. He’d want to do it his way. He’d want to do it very silly or just not be involved with what we’re doing at all. Now, he’s right with me.” Learn how The Brain Balance Program has benefited children with Asperger syndrome by reading our stories from other Brain Balance parents. *It is important to speak directly with your Doctor concerning the presence or confirmation of any diagnosis of a spectrum disorder.
