"Brain Balance has touched our lives in the most meaningful way possible. We took our child to them when he was 3 and was diagnosed with autism. He had a number of language and motor both fine and gross deficiencies. He was categorized as being in the severe spectrum. We met with Jim and Lori and were shown the Brain Balance facility. They are one of the most wonderful people we've ever met. They are very knowledgeable about the disorder, and combined with their life achievements as children educators and the advanced science behind the Brain Balance Program, we have decided to put our child in their hands. I have to say it is one of the biggest contributors to our son's success. He has changed so much since entering the program. He has learned how to express himself with confidence, has changed socially and blossomed into an amazing, fun, curious child. He always looks forward to his sessions at BB and always welcomes going there. Whenever we have concerns, Jim and Lori's doors are always open for us. They have so much helpful information and knowledge that have allowed us to understand the disorder more and helped us navigate the ways to help our child. They are genuinely loving and sincere people and it shows in what they do. BB touches all aspects - whether social, psychological, emotional or even nutrition. It is truly a breakthrough "treatment" that is not based on artificial drugs. It is science-oriented and we are the living proof that it works! When one thinks that having ASD is the end, please know that it is NOT. Your child is not stuck to being autistic, please give this program a chance."

"I just wanted to send a quick note to say that we have noticed some HUGE improvements in Luke lately. Here are just a few of the things we have noticed....Better able to handle disappointment or things not going his way. Positive attitude during transition times (breakfast to school, school to camp, camp to home). He used to protest transition times. Able to get himself dressed without constant reminders. Willing to be the "big brother" and help John when he's upset. Playing on his with his brothers quietly (like playing with Star Wars toys or building legos). In fact, he built the first lego set I've ever seen him build and followed the instructions! Able to read a map at the zoo and tell me where to go next. Able to express himself verbally without the need for hitting, punching, etc. More focused during school time. Increase in retention of facts. Ability to problem solve with friends and brothers if they have a disagreement. Improved reading comprehension. Overall, more flexible and able to tolerate the ups and downs of the days without huge emotional outbursts. Able to entertain himself. Recognizing when he is about to tell a lie and stop himself, re-center, and tell the truth. Enjoys cooking and able to follow instructions and also he is more cautious."

More About Brain Balance of Pasadena
Our Whole Brain Approach
Did you know the brain can change at any age? Change in the brain can refer to new pathways being formed or connections becoming stronger and more efficient. New pathways are formed through sensory stimulation, life experiences and new information. These connections and pathways are important because they communicate with all regions of the brain, allowing us to successfully perform daily cognitive and physical tasks, and facilitating our executive functioning.
When individuals struggle with focus, behavior, or sensory processing, it can be linked to weak connections across different regions in the brain. But the good news is, we know that the brain can change.
The Brain Balance program is designed to strengthen and build brain connectivity with a unique combination of physical, sensory, and cognitive activities. These new, efficient, and effective connections in the brain help improve in the following areas:
- Cognitive Tasks
- Executive Functioning
- Focus
- Memory
- Learning
- Comprehension
- Reasoning
- Behaviors & EmotionsOrganization
- Self-motivation
- Problem Solving
By building stronger brain connections, you can help yourself or your child get to the root of their challenges and build a stronger foundation for success.
A Personalized Program to Meet Your Needs
At Brain Balance, we believe it is critical to identify the root cause of challenges to create an action plan for change. Our program begins with a 1-to-2-hour in-depth, comprehensive assessment. We use what we learn in the comprehensive assessment to set up your individualized program. By doing this for each unique person, individually, we create a customized program that addresses any deficits in functions or skills you may have.
The frequency and duration of these tasks, activities, and exercises are tailored based on the individual’s needs.
