We Help Kids Who Struggle With Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
The Brain Balance Program in Bergen County Can Help Improve The Lives of Children With Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Hope For Children With Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
Behavior issues can impact a child’s social interactions or ability to succeed in school. They often require intervention due to the impact on family life and ongoing disruption at-home or in the classroom. The Brain Balance program can help children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and other behavioral challenges find the help they need to reach their full potential. In order to identify a child’s unique strengths and challenges, each child is given a personalized assessment. Each child’s personalized assessment is then used to create a customized plan just for them!
The Brain Balance Achievement Center of Bergen County has helped thousands of children across the country find success by overcoming their social, academic, and/or behavioral challenges through a drug-free, holistic approach. Our program combines academic activities, sensory motor training, nutritional guidelines, and take-home exercises to help your child reach their goals. The frequency and duration of at-home exercises are clearly communicated to your family in order to help keep your child on track throughout our program.

Oppositional Defiant Disorder and The Brain Balance Program
As a behavioral disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or ODD, causes children to have difficulty interacting with individuals they know well, such as parents and teachers. With symptoms most often arising before the age of 8, children with ODD tend to:
- Have frequent arguments with adults
- Refuse to comply with rules
- Lose their temper
- Feel resentful or vindictive
- Easily or purposely annoy others
- Blame others for their own misbehavior
Since these behaviors occur frequently and are uncommon among other children in the same age group, they can cause significant issues at school, at home, or around other children. Our drug-free, integrated approach to ODD support brings parents and their children together in order to achieve a common goal - improving a child’s processing and social ability.
The Brain Balance Achievement Center of Bergen County works with your child to improve behaviors. We create a personalized plan with your child in mind so that we can find the approach that works best for them. With the Brain Balance Program, most children have in-center sessions at least 3 times per week along with at-home activities; however, depending on your child’s assessment results, frequency and duration of both the in-center sessions and at-home activities may change. If your child is struggling with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, our center can help.
