Phoebe Clark

Assistant Director

With a background in psychology, Phoebe earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Studio Arts from Loyola University of Maryland in 2022. Immediately after graduation, she joined the Department of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins as a research coordinator in their memory center, where she managed multiple studies focused on Alzheimer’s and dementia care. This experience not only honed her skills in cognitive assessment but also deepened her understanding of brain health and its critical importance.

Currently, Phoebe is pursuing her Master's in Counseling Psychology at Towson University. Her work in Alzheimer's and dementia research has made her acutely aware of the need for non-medical solutions, such as Brain Balance, to support cognitive well-being. As a neurodivergent individual herself, she views her unique cognitive processes as a superpower, fueling her commitment to improving the lives of others. Her goal has always been to help individuals reach their fullest potential and to provide unwavering support in their journeys toward achieving their aspirations.

In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, she is passionate about exploring new hobbies, particularly those that allow her to express her creativity. As a mixed media artist, she constantly experiments with various mediums, currently embracing quilting alongside her love for painting, drawing, crocheting, and collage. Cooking is another cherished passion; she enjoys creating new recipes and aspires to write a cookbook someday.

Having danced for over 12 years, an injury shifted her focus to yoga, which became a new outlet for expression and wellness—it's where she connected with Beth and Sarah. In her free time, she can be found crafting, cooking, traveling with her fiancé, Luke, practicing yoga, relaxing at the beach, or spending quality moments with friends and family.

Phoebe’s Fun Fact: She has a labradoodle named Finn!

Phoebe's advice to Brain Balance clients? “Be kind and patient with yourself!”

Becca Woodland

Lead Coach

Becca holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice from Towson University. During her studies, she interned at the Howard County Office of the Public Defender (OPD) and a local Employee Assistance Program (EAP). At the OPD, she worked for two years, initially with the juvenile attorney and later with the office’s social worker. Her EAP experience included marketing, organizing benefit fairs, creating mental health training programs, and conducting workplace mental health research.

Driven by a passion for helping others, Becca was excited when Beth and Chris introduced her to Brain Balance. She had been working with teenagers at a group home and was eager to apply her social work and hospitality experience in a new setting.

A self-proclaimed "hospitality veteran," Becca started working at a snowball stand at 13 and continued working in various restaurants and bars, which fueled her love of service. Her most recent role was at a residential group home, where she organized large events like field days and holiday celebrations. Often describing her role as handling “the fun things,” her focus was always on making youth smile. While initially hired for another position, Becca soon took on the role of unit supervisor, overseeing a team of 15 direct care staff and 10 girls across two houses. She was affectionately given the title of "Chaos Coordinator" by her team and proudly displays the plaque in her Brain Balance office.

Outside of work, Becca is passionate about upcycling, crafting, and finding creative ways to repurpose items. She enjoys hiking, foraging for edible mushrooms, plants, and fruits with her partner and their dogs. A food enthusiast, she loves cooking, trying new restaurants, and exploring diverse culinary experiences. Traveling and immersing herself in different cultures is also a big part of her life.

On the personal side, Becca has been with her partner, Kevin, for 11 years. Kevin is Beth’s cousin, which is how she became connected to Brain Balance. Together, they share a home with their two dogs—one golden retriever/German shepherd mix and one mini pinscher/chihuahua. Becca has three brothers, all married with children, making her the proud aunt of five nephews and two nieces. Both she and Kevin cherish their grandmothers, who are the heart and foundation of their families.

Becca’s Fun Fact: I love Disney movies and frequently listen to Disney music. If that's not fun enough, I am dive certified!
