Stories from Brain Balance Center of Mequon

"My son’s speaking fluency has improved significantly, one would not know he was once a severe stutterer. His communication processing is greatly improved, no delays in responding and we know that he knows/understands immediately. He expresses his awareness and really has a keen sense of good/bad, right/wrong and he is not afraid to challenge if he hears anything negative or disagreeable."

"Overall, I am seeing great improvement in my son’s attitude and confidence. My son is trying out new social skills; he is engaging in play with others more often.  He has taken the initiative to interact and play with kids that he does not know. He also seems to be more focused and able to sit for longer periods."

Age 7

"17 year-old with Autism My son has better eye contact.  He likes to play table tennis, and previously the longest we could play was 10-15 minutes.  This past Sunday, he played for 45 minutes and I was the one who wanted to stop for a break!"

Elizabeth Reardon

Program Director

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Reardon and I am one of the Program Directors at the Brain Balance Center of Mequon. I have a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. While in graduate school, I worked as an ABA therapist with neuro-divergent children ranging from 2-7 years of age by helping them learn new skills. Before discovering Brain Balance, I worked in a pediatric out-patient clinic and worked with children with a variety of conditions including autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, ODD, anxiety, etc. I created and implemented individualized treatment plans to help children increase independence in daily activities and improve quality of life. Brain Balance initially caught my eye with their emphasis on using a holistic, non-medical approach to re-creating brain development, especially with having a background in Occupational Therapy. I love working directly with families to create an individualized plan to mature brain connectivity and neural pathways. It is so fulfilling and rewarding to me to see functional changes in areas of concern by improving emotional regulation, focus and attention, academics, social skills while minimizing behaviors. My passion is helping children reach their fullest potential and giving them the tools they need to be set up for success. My goal is to have children go out in the world with confidence and be who they are meant to be and I feel endlessly blessed that Brain Balance gives children and families the opportunity todo so.
